| Joey: Rocky road and cookie dough and bing cherry vanilla Posted: 23 Nov 2021 03:00 AM PST  What are those ice-cream flavors?Ross misses Carol, his until recent wife, and voices the fear, that there is only one perfect soulmate for everyone. Joey refuses to see Ross's divorce as a problem. Joey: What are you talking about? 'One woman'? That's like saying there's only one flavor of ice cream for you. Lemme tell you something, Ross. There's lots of flavors out there. There's Rocky Road, and Cookie Dough, and Bing! Cherry Vanilla. You could get 'em with Jimmies, or nuts, or whipped cream! When I first was watching Friends I remember there was only three flavors of ice-cream on our market. It was a chocolate, a whipped cream and berry-mix one. It has been 25 years and there are much more many flavors of ice-cream in our stores, but I still feel like Joey talking about pretty exotic ice-cream types. What are all those flavors? That is what I found: - Rocky Road traditionally has in it chocolate ice cream, nuts, and whole or diced marshmallows. I should admit here something. I have not grown up around marshmallows. None of Russian kids from the 90ies have. So now marshmallows are a bit tasteless to me. But I guess when combined with extra-sweetness of the rest of the Rocky Road mix, it could play to the whole combo's favor. Got to try it next time I am in the US! - Cookie dough ice cream is a popular ice cream flavor in which unbaked chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough are embedded in vanilla flavored ice cream. I kind of heard that some people enjoy eating cookie doughs in Russia too. But it has always felt like a deep dark secret doing, that only happens when you and the dough are along in the kitchen. Guess eating a raw cookie dough is way more mainstream in the USA. - Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream made with fresh cherries, heavy cream, milk, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla. God, it is a challenge too! Eating raw egg yolks? Noooo. Is it even safe to eat egg yolks uncooked? I do admit though I might enjoy an egg yolk in the ice-cream, if I don't know it is in the mix. But now when I do know, there goes my chance at trying Cherry Vanilla ice-cream. - Jimmies are very small pieces of confectionery used as an often colorful decoration or to add texture to desserts such as brownies, cupcakes, doughnuts or ice cream. Watch out for this one. I've found in several sources it is not politically correct to call the confetti one sprinkles on the ice-cream "jimmies" anymore. That is all because Jim was a popular name for a black boy at some point. And some confetti are not colorful but chocolate or brown color, so it is might be considered racist. Instead of "jimmies" you can call them simply "sprinkles". On the other hand I talked to one of my friends in US, who is a black lives matter activist about it.
